Project objectives
The overall objective of the project is to contribute to the development and implementation of a well-functioning Croatian Public Internal Financial Control (PIFC) system by strengthening the external oversight of budget execution in line with good European practice.

› This will be achieved by:

• strengthening the legal framework for external audit (whenever necessary);
• the application of core external audit processes in line with international standards and good European practice;
• strengthening the organisation, management of human resources and information systems of the SAO; and
• improved information technology of the SAO.

Further details are provided in the project leaflet and more detailed information on specific activities can be seen from the project work-plan. Further information about the work of the State Audit Office can be found via the home page for this site. Further information about the work of the National Audit Office of the United Kingdom can be found at www.nao.gov.uk

Readers are encouraged to submit questions about the project to the twinning partners (by email if possible) and both partners will be happy to discuss the project and related issues with interested parties.
