Participation in the annual training session of the International Board of Auditors for NATO (IBAN)
Representatives of the State Audit Office visited Brussels, NATO Headquarters, on January 21, 2026, where they participated as lecturers at the Annual Training Session of the International Board of Auditors for NATO (IBAN), at the invitation of the Chair of the International Board of Auditors for NATO, Mr. Sebastien Lepers.
The participation of representatives of the State Audit Office of the Republic of Croatia in the Annual Training Session of the International Board of Auditors for NATO is one of the cooperation activities envisaged by the Memorandum of Understanding between the State Audit Office of the Republic of Croatia and the International Board of Auditors for NATO (IBAN), which was signed in January 2026.
The contribution of the Office representatives included the following activities:
In addition to representatives of the State Audit Office, the Annual Training Session was attended by representatives of the Supreme Audit Institutions of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, the Federal Republic of Germany, the United States of America and Canada.

- presentation of the State Audit Office
- detailed presentation of the work methodology in the State Audit Office, including procedures and tools for different types of audits, with an emphasis on compliance and performance audits
- presentations of several case studies, through which participants were shown specific audit procedures
- exchanging practical experiences, answering questions and participating in discussions, with the aim of strengthening the capacities of IBAN auditors.
In addition to representatives of the State Audit Office, the Annual Training Session was attended by representatives of the Supreme Audit Institutions of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, the Federal Republic of Germany, the United States of America and Canada.
