Memorandum of Understanding on Cooperation between the State Audit Office of the Republic of Croatia and the International Board of Auditors for NATO (IBAN)

On 13 January 2026, Mr. Sebastien Lepers, The Chairman of the International Board of Auditors for NATO (IBAN), paid a working visit to the State Audit Office of the Republic of Croatia, during which a Memorandum of Understanding on Cooperation was signed between the State Audit Office of the Republic of Croatia and the International Board of Auditors for NATO (IBAN). The aforementioned Memorandum aims, among other things, to promote mutual cooperation in areas of exchanging professional experience and good practice aimed at improving public external audit methods and professional standards for auditors and other staff; supporting the external audit activities of international organisations within the scope of INTOSAI; staff training; creating conditions conducive to the implementation of professional traineeships and the appointment of candidates to the post of IBAN Board member; conducting cooperative audits, peer reviews and joint research projects.
As part of the visit, meeting was also held between Mr. Sebastan Lepers and Mr. Ivan Klesic, Auditor General of the Republic of Croatia and his associates, at which the work of the State Audit Office of the Republic of Croatia, as well as the work of the International Board of Auditors for NATO, was presented. Also, a discussion was held on the participation of the State Audit Office of Republic of Croatia in meetings between the International Board of Auditors for NATO and expert national audit bodies. It was also agreed that representatives of the State Audit Office of the Republic of Croatia will be presenters at the annual seminar of auditors of the International Board of Auditors for NATO in Brussels in January 2026.
