OECD Meeting

Objavljeno 3. 6. 2026. At the invitation of the OECD, Ivan Klešić, Auditor General, and his colleagues participated in a two-day event, which was held on 27 and 28 May 2026 at the OECD headquarters in Paris.
On the first day, 27 May 2026, the OECD Forum on Restoring Public Finances was held. The Forum, which brought together representatives of ministries of finance, parliaments, independent fiscal institutions and supreme audit institutions, discussed how countries can put public finances on a more sustainable footing and how they can build public support for the necessary reforms. The discussion focused on the measures that countries are already taking, what more might be needed, and how clearer communication of data and the costs of inaction can help build public support.
The event continued on 28 May 2026 with a meeting of the Heads of supreme audit institutions, through the following four sessions: (i) Performance Audit: Strategies for Achieving Impact, (ii) Balancing Prudence and Innovation in the Public Sector, (iii) The Implications of Artificial Intelligence on Audit and (iv) Climate and Extreme Weather Events - Impact on Public Finances. The panel sessions discussed ways in which supreme audit institutions can best respond to contemporary challenges and contribute to the efficient and effective use of public funds in the conditions and areas of discussion.
